Hitman: Ranking EVERY Game From Worst To Best
6. Hitman: Contracts
The runt of the litter when it comes to Hitman titles - Contracts doesn't bring much new to the table, but what it does bring is a fix to the quality of life issues and AI improvements. For example, guards will no longer freak out if 47 moves anything faster than a snail.
Being the third game in the series, Hitman Contracts arguably suffers from being too much of the same, whilst also being overshadowed retrospectively by Blood Money. Within the community there is an outcry of fans that claim this entry is underrated, but when all is said and done, Contracts felt more like DLC for Silent Assassin - to make the wait for Blood Money that less painful.
Still, we got some great levels and kills here, including the disturbing Meat King's party and a certain swimming pool set-piece that's become iconic since. There's some interesting backstory addressed with Contracts too, but while the narrative is pushed forward, the payoff is largely left to Blood Money. Levels from the PC exclusive original also make their return here, but are very much what they were back in 2000's Codename 47.
Hitman Origins would have been a more fitting name for this game.
