Hitman: The Dark Past Of Agent 47 Explained
Cloned to Kill
Agent 47 is the perfect killing machine, because he was built to be that. This master assassin was bread to take out high-end targets for whoever paid out the most. He isn’t wasn’t just your standard human though, Agent 47 was genetically enhanced to become the best. But he’s not by any means the first of his kind, as his number should indicate.
Agent 47 was the 47th in a long line of failed or cancelled experiments, the reason why we know this is thanks to the barcode on the back of his head. Agent 47 was created on September 5, 1964. "640509-040147" is the number tattooed on his head. ("64-05-09" is the actual date of his creation, "04" marks he is part of Series IV, whilst "01" marks that he is the first of that series, and "47" represents that he is the 47th).
It is in plain sight and kind of fits in with 47, as he is well, always hiding in plain sight.
The experiments took over the 60s and 70’s in a secret, at the Asylum based in Romania. The Asylum aspect was a cover-up of course, as this mental institute was taken over by one Otto Wolfgang Ort-Meyer who led up the cloning program, and essentially made Agent 47. But his creation process was more elaborate that most come to believe.
