Horizon Forbidden West: 10 Best New Gameplay Abilities
8. New Skill Trees
For Forbidden West, the game's developers went completely back to the drawing board for the game's skill trees.
Said to be much more flexible than the original game, the trees will allow the player to develop Aloy in the way they see fit, allowing further emphasis on stealth, melee combat, ranged combat and much more still to be revealed.
There are six skill trees in total:
The Warrior tree is focused on developing Aloy's arsenal of new melee skills
The Trapper tree allows you to develop new traps to set for machines
The Survivor tree focuses on building your health and resources
The Infiltrator tree expands Aloy's stealth capabilities
The Machine Master tree focuses on Aloy's domination of machines and her overall hacking abilities
All of the trees come with their own unique Valor Surge move, which can be unlocked at the end of the tree. Each one is said to have 30 or so skills, so you're gonna have to work to get them all!
It's also worth noting that players aren't locked in to a particular tree; instead you can mix and match your skill points as you wish.
