Aloy's 'Focus', an old-world piece of technology that basically gives her Batman's detective vision, is further enhanced in Forbidden West.

While the original Focus was useful enough for tracking machine routes and scanning them briefly for weaknesses and body parts that could be broken, the new and improved focus will go a step further.

Firstly, you'll have much more control over which machine body parts you'd like to highlight, with the ability to easily cycle between them and lock on to a specific one you'd like to target.

Secondly, if you're in the market for a specific machine part for crafting or trade, you can flag that as the most important part to target, and ensure you know where to attack to break off the part and collect it. That flagged part will gain a purple hue.

The focus also now actively highlights climable terrain in the game too; given the emphasis on improved climbing, this will be invaluable in combat when you want to take things vertical.
