While the world of Zero Dawn was definitely impressive in terms of scope, with various different areas to explore, it looks like Forbidden West will be even larger than the first game.

Even more excitingly, there's a whole new area to explore - underwater. While Aloy could swim in Zero Dawn, she can now dive down into the depths, and it's every bit as colourful and interesting as the rest of the stunning world Horizon's developers have created.

The new technology behind these watery environments, simulating the water, waves and the environments below, has apparently taken Guerrilla 'years' to develop. We wouldn't be surprised if this is some of the most impressive underwater mechanics ever used in gaming.

We're really hoping the underwater sections have plenty hidden in them just like the surface. We have no doubt that there'll surely be some underwater ruins to go plundering in while simultaneously trying to dodge deadly mechanical alligators.
