How Bethesda Should Make The Elder Scrolls VI

8. Deeper Character Customisation

Fallout 4 allowed players to get creative with character customisation and put a personal stamp on the world. There was a cool sculpting system and everything.

Not only were these tools extensive, they were user friendly and the fanbase came up with all kinds of weird and wonderful creations with them at their fingertips.

Bringing these features over to Elder Scrolls VI is a must, although this would be more challenging to implement given the amount of playable races in the series.

While Fallout has grown more sophisticated where character creation is concerned, Bethesda's high fantasy series has been streamlining since Daggerfall, although the Elder Scrolls Online introduced a few neat features that could be carried across.

The triangular sliders for altering things like your avatar's body and facial features give players a broader range of options than a mere list of types, and this setup could easily be combined with sculpting tools so users can tweak the finer details.

The Elder Scrolls needs to think in MMO terms when it comes to avatar creation: take a look at the wealth of options in games like Black Desert Online and EVE Online. This should be the benchmark it strives to match.

Bethesda's ultimate goal is for no two players' characters to look identical, and with the power of next-gen technology on its side, this may be possible.
