How MachineGames Should Make Wolfenstein 3

3. Remove Micro-Transactions

Microtransactions. they've become the hot-button issue for gamers across the board in the past couple of years. While they have always been about in free-to-play and MMO games, as well as the bane of mobile gaming, they have begun to seep into more and more mainstream games on console and PC.

This was most evident with the remake of Battlefront 2 in 2017, which sparked massive debate in both gaming circles and the mainstream for its use of microtransactions and loot boxes. MachineGames seemed to jump on this trend in Wolfenstein Youngblood, with the ability to purchase in-game currency to buy better weapons and cosmetics.

If MachineGames wants to bring back the love and respect of the fans of the Wolfenstein series, this is something they need to do away with in Wolfenstein 3. No one wants to have to pay for the best guns in the game. No one wants to have to shell out money for new skins.

These are superfluous and ruin the experience of the game for many, who simply want to boot up the game and shoot some nazis.

Microtransactions taint any game they are part of. Hopefully MachineGames will realise this before Wolfenstein 3 hits shelves.
