How Rockstar Should Make Grand Theft Auto VI
1. A New Time Period
Period settings are one of Rockstar Games' specialties - from the aesthetic world of LA Noire to Red Dead Redemption's untamed Wild West - and in Grand Theft Auto VI's case, something old could pave the way for something new.
Leaving the modern day setting behind to explore a new time period would differentiate the latest sequel from its predecessors and give the development team the chance to get really creative.
Taking GTA into a sci-fi future would no doubt see the series descend into Saints Row-esque parody, but the past has always proven fertile ground for gangsters.
Returning GTA to the 1980s creates the opportunity for Scarface parallels, while the '70s is something of a neglected decade in modern day popular culture.
Rockstar could also take the series back to 1960s London, but as anyone who's ever tried to find a parking space in the Big Smoke will tell you, that's probably a bad idea.
