It's easy to dismiss Scarecrow as an all-style, no substance kinda guy. Yes, he has exemplarily designed loot and costume components, and yes, that lone hook-blade whip is his main method of attack.

Though, that misses the fact that a good Scarecrow player knows how to vary their approach between high and low blows, deploying his breath blast to interrupt opponent animations before faking them out with standard and meter-burned whip-cracks.

The best thing about the latter is you can keep Scarecrow moving both forward and back whilst deploying his whirlwind spin - perfect for a swift retreat or to take the battle nearer an environmental object you can later utilise.

Best/cheapest of all, like Poison Ivy, Scarecrow's grab can interrupt the majority of attacks and falling animations, letting you wrench players straight out of what would otherwise be the end of an attack string. It prolongs the punishment and frustration for them, but sometimes lets you do enough damage for the win.
