Injustice 2 Review: 9 Ups & 2 Downs

7. Incredible Visuals & Voice Acting

Though there was some pre-release controversy about Injustice 2's visuals, rest assured that the final game looks nothing short of fantastic, with the jaw-droppingly good facial animations helping enhance the Story Mode in particular.

General combat and movement animations are also terrific, the environments and overall art style are gorgeous, and it simply does a great job evoking the heightened world of DC in video game form. Sure, there are moments where the textures aren't so hot (especially during the campaign's Earth-set moments), but overall? It looks great.

And what would these characters be without some cracking vocal performances? Thankfully the likes of Kevin Conroy, Richard Epcar and Alan Tudyk do bang-up work reprising Batman, The Joker and Green Arrow, while Robert freaking Englund gives a surprise performance as Scarecrow, and Tara Strong's Harley Quinn just about lands on the right side of cartoonish.

There aren't any overt dud performances among the lot, which is more than can be said for the first game and, indeed, most fighting games.
