Injustice 2 Review: 9 Ups & 2 Downs

4. The Loot Grind Is Surprisingly Fun

One of the game's more divisive aspects has been the loot system, which sees players unlocking gear during play, both ability-based and merely cosmetic, and though it's basically just an RNG-driven grind to keep people playing the game longer, it is an unexpected amount of fun.

Sure, some will just have no interest at all in getting involved with the amassing of ultimately fairly inconsequential vanity items and buffs, but NetherRealm have pulled it off in a manner that doesn't feel too predatory or keen to take advantage of the aforementioned microtransaction model.

Whether you want to just occasionally dig into it or become fully obsessed, it's a solid companion to the core gameplay.
