Injustice 2 Vs. Tekken 7 - Which Game Is Better?
7. Quality, Variety & Reward Factor Of Loot
Onto wider longevity, and in both games once you've clocked the story modes, your main 'reason for playing' outside of the joy of the mechanics themselves is a loot grind.
Sadly, in Tekken's case, the loot is... awful. Where NetherRealm really put the time in to offer what feels like hundreds of individual components for each character - ranging from head to arms, legs, chest pieces and even additional moves - Tekken falls back on being 'quirky'. Yes, each character comes with a recognisable skin (like Jin's duel red gauntlets and flame pants combo), but outside of that, it's a mess of novelty food items, T-shirts, glowing 'auras' or comedy glasses.
In short, unless you love the idea of making your characters look as faux-hilarious as possible, you'll tire of T7's offerings almost immediately. Injustice on other hand, benefits from both an exemplary art direction (rarely does a new item look anything other than stellar), alongside constant access to a variety of loot boxes that drop after every almost every fight.
Simply put, Tekken's decision to give you literally one or two off-kilter items (regardless of who you're playing as) pales in comparison in every respect to the inclusion of loot that affects character stats, bolsters their repertoire and alters their appearance for the better.
It's not even close.
Winner: Injustice 2
