Injustice 2 Vs. Tekken 7 - Which Game Is Better?

5. Roster Balance & Hitbox Proficiency

It's about time Tekken won something, and perhaps this is just down to Namco taking the genre more seriously for longer (Mortal Kombat was a high-octane gore-fest for the entirety of the 2000s), but T7's entire roster feels impeccably balanced.

It's a crucial component to get right, as if just one character is overpowered or comes with an attack that can be spammed, it'll dominate online for all the wrong reasons.

Such is the case with Injustice, where not only are the likes of Wonder Woman and Deadshot fast-becoming nothing more than annoyances thanks to the former's long-range whip and the latter's juggle-favouring projectiles, a good handful of Injustice 2's hitboxes are also straight-up broken.

More often than should be acceptable (and will most likely be patched), things like Poison Ivy's whips or Wonder Woman's lasso will connect even if you're clearly far above where their 'tips' would hit your character, pulling you into animations you can't block. Various grapples also pull you out of bounces or impacts, meaning in the right hands (or the nefarious A.I), there's literally nothing you can do to avoid a barrage of unblockable blows.

Tekken is the grandfather and pioneer of the genre for a reason: Namco have truly honed their craft.

Winner: Tekken 7
