Insider Reveals TRUTH Of Netflix Resident Evil
2. Season 2 Had Audacious Plans
Not only was Lingenfelser candid about the issues that had plagued the visual effects of season one, he was more than willing to spill the beans on the proposed future for the show.
He revealed that there were plans “all the way to the end”, outlining season 2 and beyond. The supervisor then went on to drops lot of salacious moments that we’ll never get to see now that Netflix has cancelled the show, particularly the events of the second season’s prospective opener.
Continuing the show’s great visual effects, the sophomore outing would’ve introduced zombified ravens (likely an allusion to the video game’s crows) as well as the Tyrant, sent to hunt down present-day Billie Wesker. The first episode's script culminates in the Tyrant “ripping” an elephant in half to get to Billie.
Jade and Billie are then saved by, of all people, Chris Redfield.
Redfield's appearance in Netflix’s Resident Evil would’ve been an interesting addition to the show considering that it featured no characters from the game outside of Albert Wesker.
Lingenfelser went on to describe other wild and wacky monster moments such as a horde of zeroes at the Burj Khalifa, a giant “King Kong-like” Mandrill monster and the shocking on-screen transformation of fan-favourite character Bert into a Licker.
