Metal Gear Solid 2
This is a series that had been happily hanging out in the 2D gaming world for several years, quietly refining its brand of stealth action. It wasn't until series director Hideo Kojima and his friends made the jump to 3D on the original Playstation, that they caught the eye of anyone with the slightest interest in gaming. The first Metal Gear Solid wow-ed gamers with its innovative style of gameplay and storytelling. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty was the sequel and was also on the next generation of consoles; it promised better graphics, gameplay and the more stealthy fun. Everyone was excited as everyone in the world seemed to own a Playstation 2. Although it can be difficult to cast your mind back and remember how you felt about certain launches, it can be interesting to try to quantify such notions and see if the games we could wait for have withstood the test of time.
