Nintendo will always remain the masters of the side-scroller, from Super Mario to Super Pitfall, they were and still are, quite simply, super at putting out a platformer. But when it came to the Jurassic Park license, they just didn't fancy it.

Their loss was Sega's gain, who pushed the spec of the Mega Drive with this fun movie tie-in. Given the option of either controlling Dr. Alan Grant or a Velociraptor, the aim of the game is to either run and gun your way to the visitors centre or, if the playing as the raptor, leap your way to Grant's destination and give him the cornering of his life.

There are plus points for each character - lots of guns for Grant, while the raptor can eat people - and some neat level design plays to each of their strengths, creating a great gaming experience.
