Killzone: Shadow Fall Review - 6 Reasons It's The Ultimate PS4 Tech Demo

5. But The Graphics Will Floor You

At least when you€™re watching these insultingly generic characters argue with each other you will be sucked into the experience, namely because it looks so damn beautiful. Unlike previous entries, Shadow Fall actually fiddles around with the colour palette, paving the way for beautiful environments such as luscious forests, deep space, the Sun, and more. When in combat, things become even more jaw dropping as you constantly find yourself in awe of the smallest things, like Helghast capes swaying with the wind as they strafe around environments shooting at you. Not so surprisingly however, the most fascinating aspects of the graphics come from the cinematic moments, like blowing a bridge from a helicopter and watching it crumble with absolutely mind blowing texture detail and phenomenal fire physics. Graphically, Shadow Fall is the quintessential game to show off with a Playstation 4 as the jump between generations is overtly apparent. Everything from the lighting effects to blood splattering on walls to a joyous realisation that textures still look polished when up close all impress. If this is what freaking launch titles are capable of then we are in for one special generation of gaming.
