Kingdom Hearts 3: 10 Brand New Details You Need To Know

5. No Returning Visits

Another interesting detail in regards to the design and gameplay of Kingdom Hearts 3 is how world visits will work this time around.

The original Kingdom Hearts had Sora, Donald and Goofy visit a world one at a time and have only one plot point present. This meant that you only had to visit the world once to get the full story, and any subsequent visits were simply for completing the game 100%. Kingdom Hearts 2 changed this formula by having the player visit a world two times per playthrough, which was done to add more depth to the worlds themselves.

Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 3 will go back to the formula used in the original and only have one visit per world. Previous claims have also said that worlds will have much more content and will last the length of one playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 0.2, so could last up to two hours each world.

The massive depth of each world will hopefully make up for the fact that there are going to be less Disney worlds than in Kingdom Hearts 2. The use of one visit instead of two is hopefully a sign that Square Enix are trying to remove the feeling of padding as much as possible.
