Kingdom Hearts 3: 10 Brand New Details You Need To Know
4. Athletic Flow And 'Flowmotion'
Kingdom Hearts 3 has placed a much bigger emphasis on movement and flow, which is evident in the new footage that we've been shown.
At one point in the new trailer, we see Sora using his Shotlock to get between floating pieces of debris in the world of Olympus. This shows us that even Sora's offensive moves can be used to get around, and vice versa as we've seen him use Flowmotion as an attack on enemies in previous footage. We also see Sora using Flowmotion to grind along a rail, but he now also has the ability to attack Heartless whilst doing so.
We also got some direct information about Athletic Flow from Tetsuya Nomura. Nomura stated that he saw Athletic Flow as an advancement of the Flowmotion formula, and was an intent to make Sora much more athletic and easy to control. We see examples of Athletic Flow all throughout the Kingdom Hearts 3 trailers, such as when he runs up a wall to the Rock Titan, or when he uses it simply to jump between different rocks.
This trailer expanded upon Flowmotion by showing us a much more expanded moveset, whilst also clarifying how mobile Sora is going to be in the final game through Athletic Flow.
