Kingdom Hearts 3: 10 Reasons It's A Disappointment
1. It Wasn't Worth The 13-Year Wait
The most crushing disappointment of all? Kingdom Hearts III just wasn't worth 13 years of hype and anticipation.
Again, it's not an awful game by any means, but given the absurdly long wait between core titles, the end result feels bizarrely low-effort and malnourished in a lot of key areas.
Between this and FFXV falling short of the mark for many fans, it's probably best to lower your expectations for any future entries into either franchise, even if it's sad that "merely decent" is what Square Enix is content putting out nowadays.
The best thing you can do to enjoy this game is remove any preconceptions that it's going to be an epic, satisfying conclusion to the trilogy and just accept it on its own terms as a sloppy, fitfully enjoyable JRPG.
