Kingdom Hearts 3: 11 Disney Characters That Must Feature

1. Kida

It's hard to believe, but only 14 years have passed since Atlantis: The Lost Empire hit theaters. With little to no presence in Disney parks across the globe and numerous successors having reached success critically and commercially that it failed to obtain having released in the years since, Atlantis has nearly faded into obscurity as part of an era when Disney was struggling against the rise of DreamWorks. With a distinct visual look perfectly suited for Kingdom Hearts, we'd be delighted to see Sora, Donald and Goofy discover the lost city, especially if it meant including Kida, the film's badass warrior queen who definitely deserves some more time in the spotlight. With the exception of Mulan in Kingdom Hearts II, none of Disney's female characters have really had the chance to take part in the action and fight alongside the player. Kida's smart, tough and would fit right in, whether the game takes players through a retelling of the film's story and conflict with Rourke (albeit giving Kida more of an active role) or through its own take. The film may not have been welcomed with open arms upon release in the way Disney had once been hoping, but giving the Kingdom Hearts team a chance to blow the dust off the film and bring Atlantis and Kida to life could very well give the film and the character a much-needed second wind. With Disney's catalog of characters stretching back for decades, there are far more than just the ones we've listed who could show up in Kingdom Hearts III. From the Rescuers to Rapunzel to Herbie to Aladar and everyone in between, the possibilities are vast and everyone has their own Disney favourites they'd love to see make an appearance in the series. Are there any we missed? Let us know below what other non-Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar characters from Disney's storied cinematic legacy you're hoping will show up!
