One of the biggest story teasers (besides the potential return of Roxas) within the trailer is from Maleficent asking Hades about a 'black box'.

What exactly is this black box? Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover showed us that Luxu (an apprentice of the Master of Masters and one of the Foretellers) was tasked with transporting a mysterious black box. There were never any details on what the box contained or what its purpose was, but it appears that Maleficent is now looking for it too.

This teases the fact that the lore and storyline of Kingdom Hearts X might actually play a bigger role in Kingdom Hearts 3 than previously thought. Kingdom Hearts 3 might contain answers to this box and the role of Luxu.

The last appearance of Maleficent in Re:Coded showed she was looking for the Book of Prophecies, something that is also linked to Kingdom Hearts X.

Perhaps this tells us that she ended up finding it?
