Kingsglaive - Final Fantasy XV Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

2. Strong Action Sequences

If you're watching Kingsglaive largely for the barmy set-pieces, then you probably won't be disappointed. Yes, there's sometimes a bit of a wait for the action to ramp up, but once it does, it's both prolonged and electric, especially a mid-film rescue sequence that throws everything at the screen but still remains surprisingly coherent.

One can certainly argue that the film threatens to overdo it with some Transformers-esque, Michael Bay-inspired overkill in its final reel, but it seems unlikely that fans of the franchise will find the action to take things too far.

As a pyrotechnics display, it's sharply directed and absolutely gorgeous to behold. Bravo.
