1. There's Still Plenty Of Room For Improvement

"It is not revolutionary and we’re not quite talking Game of the Year contender, but it is the evolution that its mediocre predecessor needed." - Kotaku
"Knack 2 is an entertaining platform game like those of yesteryear. It's been created with due care and attention. Sure, it’s old fashioned, and its story is appalling. But it’s a reminder that the character-led platform combat game is still alive and well. Despite its good looks, it’s more a work of engineering than it is a work of art. But, as my kid said to me after we'd mashed our way through a co-op level, it's kinda fun." - Polygon
"Knack 2 is definitely a step up from the original, then, but until the writing and characterisation improve drastically, it’s not going to be a true first party titan." - IGN
"While the action is repetitive and the overall structure isn’t all that innovative, there’s something rather comfortingly retro about Knack...Ultimately the game’s appeal boils down to one simple question: did you like the first Knack? If you did, then rejoice, because this is basically the same experience with a new plot and a few new features thrown in." - Gamesradar

Yes, Knack 2 is an easy improvement over the first game, but it also still leaves plenty of room for improvement, especially in terms of its story and actually making the most of the potentially awesome title character.

There is certainly potential for Knack 3, assuming it actually happens, to further build on this solid foundation, but most reviewers reiterated that if you at all enjoyed the first game, you will absolutely get something out of this effortlessly superior sequel.

Just don't go in expecting full-bodied platforming greatness on the level of a Mario or Crash Bandicoot and you'll be fine, but this series definitely has the potential to be much better. As ever, time will tell.
