Knack has received quite the amount of mixed criticism and its not exactly baffling why. This truly is an experience from 1998 but dolled up with 2013s technological advancements. On everything but Easy, its archaically challenging and overflowing with game design that assuredly isnt going to resonate with more common gamers. Moving past that initial barrier, it is hard to deny the charming characters, Knack himself, and gorgeous visuals as anything but entertaining. Knack is most definitely an entertaining game that is worth checking out, but its hard to kick the feeling that Mark Cerny and Japan Studio could have struck a better balance between 90s mascot adventure difficulty nostalgia and modern gaming conventions. Give Knack a shot though, because theres promise to right the wrongs with sequels and create an entire franchise out of the cutesy and cocky hero
Knack is available now in the US and UK, and is a Playstation 4 exclusive
