Knights Of The Old Republic Remake - Everything We Know

7. Bioware Very Likely Won't Be The Ones Making It

KOTOR Remake
EA/BioWare

Bioware not making KOTOR?! What new spore of madness is this? Well, if I had to guess, I'd say it's the same spore of madness that made Bioware think Anthem was a good idea.

Joking aside, that probably does have something to do with it. Pretty much everyone who worked on the original KOTOR back in 2003 have long since left Bioware, being replaced with other, newer devs with clearly VERY different ideas for where the company should go. Namely, wherever their lord and masters EA says they should go.

The point is, EA will likely shop this remake around to different studios if they do it at all. One might think that KOTOR 2 developer Obsidian would get to do it, but they're owned by Xbox, so it's very unlikely that they'll be allowed anywhere near it. And even if they weren't, considering the rushed, buggy state that KOTOR 2 was initially released in, I doubt EA would trust them to get it right a second time.

Despite being one of the flagship titles for Bioware's glory days, if this remake is green lit, then it's doubtful they'll be the ones making it.
