12. You Can Dodge While Aiming

The game teaches you about the value of the dodge button in regards to enemies attacking up close, but get used to using L1 as a general "dash button" whenever you like.

Whilst doing it close to enemies undetected will make too much noise and cause them to whip round, at distance this is a great way to quickly cover ground and flank instead.

Dashing after being seen can help you dodge bullets, but best of all, hit L1 while keeping L2 held down and you'll go right back into the aiming animation, letting you return fire straight away.

Naughty Dog have coded a ton of bridging animations that let you factor the L1 dodge into various scenarios, so get experimenting and always keep yourself out of danger.
