League of Legends North American LCS Summer Split Analysis: Week 7

7. Team Coast (8-12)

Team Coast Team Coast suffers from a lack of consistency in their play. The team that was formerly tied for second is now second to last in the standings and slowly slipping. Team Coast does well when top laner ZionSpartan has a good game. However, opposing teams have focused on shutting down ZionSpartan, and sadly, it has worked like a charm. Mid lane player Shiphtur can only take some of the heat off of the top lane, and the bottom lane and jungler certainly need to step it up if they want to make the playoffs. Team Coast went 1-2 this week, beating Velocity eSports but losing to top teams Cloud Nine and Team Vulcun. The key word of the week (and for the last 5 weeks for that matter) is "consistency." Top lane player ZionSpartan has been focused by opposing teams. His performance on Gragas against Velocity eSports was admirable, going 5/2/11, but during the rest of the week, his KDA was 2/13/4. Mid lane player Shiphtur continues to be the most effective out of all of the players on the team. After a subpar performance on Zed against Cloud Nine, Shiphtur returned to his beloved Ahri play, going 12/4/13 in the last two games of the week. Jungler NintendudeX struggled in the first two games, but played a great Jarvan IV against Velocity eSports (4/2/11). However, his consistency in game is still in question. AD carry DontMashMe made a lame duck appearance on Ezreal in their game against Cloud Nine, but followed it up with a 6/3/6 game on Ezreal against Team Vulcun and a 2/0/11 game on Vayne against Velocity. Support Daydreamin stepped up his game this week, and he played one of the best games on Thresh in this split, going 3/0/12 on it against Velocity.
