League Of Legends North American LCS Summer Split Week 5 Analysis

8. Velocity eSports (2-13)

Vel Esports Velocity eSports continues to struggle through their split. Mid lane player Vileroze was out this week, and he was replaced by former Team MRN player ecco. For coming into the shuffle mid season, ecco performed well for his first time playing in this split, and he outplayed most of his team. However, without leader and shot caller Vileroze, Velocity eSports crashed into another 0-3 week. They lost to tough competition, including Cloud Nine, TSM Snapdragon, and Team Dignitas. It was certainly not the week to lose your mid lane player, but they always put up a fight despite their record. Top lane player Cris still has some catching up to do with the rest of the top laners in the North American LCS. Not to be misunderstood, he is an amazing top lane player, but he loses laning phase more often than not. He should also work on his 1 versus 2 lane match ups. Nonetheless, his 4/4/3 Renekton performance against Team Dignitas looked good. Substitute mid lane player ecco was the only player on his team to end his week with a positive KDA (9/5/7). He brought out the first Lux we've seen during this split, and he played it well, going 3/1/1 against top team Cloud Nine. He also went 4/2/1 with Ahri, and although his methods were a bit old-fashioned (almost outdated), he still got the job done as he did on Team MRN in the past. Jungler NK Inc continued his struggles adjusting to the LCS, not even securing one kill the entire week. That is unforgivable after he played Kha'Zix jungle against TSM; it is extremely difficult to not get a kill on Kha'Zix. AD carry Maplestreet had his first bad week in the entire split, after managing a KDA of only 3/7/5 for the entire week. However, he got little help from support Evaniskus whose Thresh play was below average in two of their three games.
