Leaked New PS4 Model 'Neo': Everything You Need To Know
5. It'll Probably Cost $399
When Microsoft's Phil Spencer mentioned the idea of "additional hardware" for the Xbox One, fans assumed it was something like a plug-in USB drive or otherwise external peripheral that wouldn't cost the earth, but that would enhance the console experiencetenfold.
Whilst that rumour may still be true, Sony are releasing the NEO as a full PS4. It's a new console as far as retailers are concerned, and being it already has all the functionality of the standard PS4, means you're getting thebest-selling consolewith added processing power.
That sales pitch isn't going to come cheap any way you slice it, and although the leak stayed away from an updated figure, past reports and rumours put the price at a solid $399/£300.
The NEO is being built from the ground-up with internal components that make all the difference, so unless a retailer lets you trade your older machine in against a new one, there's not going to be any natural and comfortable upgrade path.
