Legend Of Zelda: 10 Best Characters Who Only Appear In One Game

8. Groose - Skyward Sword

Midna Twilight Princess
Capcom

Nobody likes a bully, especially in their favourite video game franchise. But, while bullies are easy to hate, it can be very satisfying to see them realise the error of their ways and better themselves. That's what made Groose from Skyward Sword such a great character, as he got to experience this kind of redemption.

Groose is introduced into Skyward Sword as a self-centred jerk who sabotages Link and thinks of himself as the hero. He even has a crush on Zelda to cement his position as Link's foil. However, while most characters like this would be a small trial for the protagonist to overcome in the opening hours, Groose sticks around and plays a major role in the rest of the game.

After realising that he's not the story's true hero, Groose resigns himself to helping Link and saving Zelda. He uses his genius engineering skills to create instruments that massively benefit the quest and, along the way, becomes a far more caring and wholesome person.

This character was entertaining for the whole ride, and seeing him go from a bully to an ally was incredibly satisfying.
