Life Is Strange: Before The Storm - Everything We Know So Far
1. A More Down-To-Earth Story (No Time Travel Powers)
Quite possibly the most noteworthy thing mentioned by Deck Nine's developers at E3 is that Before the Storm will be a massive departure from the first game in terms of the supernatural aspect.
While it could have easily been inferred considering Max's absence in this prequel and what we already know about Chloe, the developers have outright stated that the first game's time travelling mechanics will not be returning, and that Chloe does not have special powers in any capacity.
This is a very bold move, considering that the ability to play around with time was one of the main draws of the first game, but it is also a very meaningful one.
As opposed to its predecessor, Before the Storm is looking to tell a much more "human" story that will be driven by the characters more than anything else. Rather than focus on the supernatural, this game is looking to dissect the town of Arcadia Bay and see exactly what makes its' inhabitants tick.
More importantly, this will play a key role in not only giving this prequel its own identity, but also making Chloe's story truly feel like one all her own.
