7. Receiving Variations

One of the most major changes to the game will be in the receiving department. On pervious versions of Madden, players must hold Y/Triangle to haul down the catch, though on the new game, there are three tailor-made options to choose from depending on your situation. Any of the three buttons must be held down straight after the QB throws the ball to rein it in. The three options are: RAC (run after catch) meaning that the player will rein in the ball if you hold X/Square in his stride in a bid to keep running with the ball. Holding Y/Triangle will result in an 'Aggressive' catch meaning that the receiver will leap to bring it down at the highest point in its flight path. While the A/X button represents a 'Possession' catch, a safety measure to secure the ball all the way to the ground, sacrificing extra yards, but nailing down those vital yards.
