So many people neglect the defence simply because they want to throw the football instead. I'd guess the vast majority of gamers would rather be in charge of a rumbling offensive team, but to make that happen, the defence needs to snuff out their opponents, obviously. Rather than lining up in any random position, begin to hone in on one slot. Begin mastering the art of a cornerback, or regularly start as a pass rusher. Look into the position, learn opposition traits, and train yourself to become excellent in that hole. It gives your defence order, but also don't be afraid to tap the O/B button and flick into the action if you're out of the picture on that play. Once you've nailed a position down, you could seriously improve your team's chances of success, and you could also be in line for priceless interceptions, that in itself is even more exciting than a simple offensive play.
