3. Make Your Own Playbook
Now this tip can be mental or physical, but draw up your own playbook. Rather than a random approach to selecting plays, both offensive and defensive, have a rhythm you can slot into. When attacking, think of it as a flowchart and follow through the options. Maybe allocate your first down as a long hurl, then depending on the outcome, have a next step. If the ball misses, stick to a simple short pass, if it is completed but doesn't quite reach a first down, go for a simple run, if it's a direct hit and first down, repeat a long bomb. Having a loose pattern allows you to know what's coming next from your own team, it prevents you from firing away on a random play, and it will maintain a steady flow of yards for your team.
