As Lionel Richie once crooned, "Hello, is it me you're looking for?". Yes, rumoured new Madden 20 Campaign Mode, it is you we've all been searching for. Please beat Longshot upside the head, take its place and delight us with your charms. Assuming you're real, of course.

SGO seem to think so. Their rumour mill has been pumping out talk of a solo story that will encapsulate many of the elements that have made 2K's NBA titles such a treat. We're talking interactions with a whole cast of characters, text message integration, dialogue wheels, player choices that impact the game world and more.

At its core, Campaign would let us pick (or maybe even create?) a single player and take them through a career path that drinks in different scenarios. To that point, this 'Scenario Engine' would be there to make each story unique. If this happens, it may make Madden lovers weep tears of pure joy.

It really sounds like the all-inclusive Career feature people are yearning for. As nice as Longshot was in parts, the tales of Devin Wade and Colt Cruise boiled down to being on-the-rails fluff pieces that often lacked genuine control.
