Madden 21 Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See
7. A Better Offseason Experience
Launch head first into Franchise mode in Madden 20 and you'll find a better suite overall than in 19. It's not perfect (the community continues to strive for that), but little touches like scenarios and improved contractual negotiations improve the feature.
There's way more they could with it.
Take the offseason, for example. In between campaigns, there's precious little to do other than drift aimlessly through Draft menus and press that skip button. This is a missed opportunity when real-life NFL coaches work tirelessly to get things ready for September's kickoff. EA would be doing themselves a favour by adding some randomised storylines here.
Retirements you don't want, in-team conflicts, contractual holdouts (like the one Dallas chewed their fingernails over with Ezekiel Elliott last year) and more would enhance down periods between seasons. Then, there are training camps, free agency battles and more to add greater immersion to Madden 21's ugly duckling of a single-player favourite.
