3. Animation Cycles That Don't Interfere

"Real Player Motion" relies on a string of animation cycles that are hardwired into each player's AI. Another problem with this is that gravity also exists in the Madden universe (imagine that), and it doesn't sit well with EA's cycle requirements.

Here's an example.

Say you're planning a QB sneak on a 4th and 1 near midfield. You might press the correct inputs for a player dive to ensure the QB leaps over that line to make and secures a 1st Down. If a defensive foe happens to have instigated a sack animation at almost exactly the same time though, then there's a fair chance your player will suddenly stop diving, land back on his feet and take the hit instead.

Those defensive animation cycles seem to overrule everything else before them. That's hardly realistic; in real football, the QB wouldn't magically appear vertical again when he was already horizontal and his legs had been kicked back for a dive.

EA need to fine tune these cycles so they're not so rigid.
