2. Skill Stick Improves Running Plays

That doesn't mean pass plays are more effective than running ones though.

Running the ball is still the most practical way to play Madden, and the new 'Skill Stick' helps. By mapping most skill moves to the right stick, EA has successfully made run plays more fluid. You don't need to rely on that same old spin move every single time now.

It feels more gratifying to play this way. Add in the greater sense of speed explored earlier and you should be able to made the NFL's best running backs more potent. They should be this dangerous, and defences should never have an easy gig talking them to the turf anyway.

Honestly, if you do buy Madden 21 and want the most from it, experiment with the skill moves. You'll have an easier time than ever doing so and will likely be repaid in kind by some of the best plays you've ever manufactured in your time with the series.
