Mafia 3: 8 Big Things It Got Wrong
4. Friendly AI Can Be Irritating
Computer AI is always a difficult thing to get just right. You want engaging enemies that you can't just slaughter without any challenge, and you also want friendly characters who are genuinely useful.
The enemies in Mafia 3 are fairly intelligent, with sentries running to call for backup if they spot you and most enemies going for cover when a shoot-out starts.
The main issue with the AI is with your associates, who you can call in to deliver guns, cars and to collect your money. For some reason, the gun runner always seems to park in the middle of the road, regardless of where you call him from. It's just weird more than anything, as Lincoln is buying illegal weapons from a bright orange van parked in the middle of traffic, but it gets really annoying when you’ve called during a shootout and have to run all the way over to him.
Good luck trying to call any associates when out in the Bayou, as they will often park up in an area that you are nowhere near, meaning the one minute timer will run out before you’ve gotten there.
