Mafia 3 DLC: 8 Things You Need To Know About The Season Pass

New outfits, racing, a cult-crazy story add-on and much more.

Announced prior to the title's release, Mafia III's manifesto of post-release content is promising to expand New Bordeaux in a manner the game sorely needs, delivering both free and paid content; the first of which should be dropping before the month's end.

The general consensus may be that it's a flawed, if not unique open world title, but it must be said that Hangar 13 deserve to feel proud of what they've accomplished. For the studio's first project, Mafia III manages to meet critical expectations and then some, delivering a nuanced and provocative narrative that's steeped in the history of the 1960s.

It's safe to say that the third entry in the franchise did a great many things right, but it just needs something else to give it a little bit more oomph. You know, like making the open world feel, well, exciting.

Because whilst we may all love New Bordeaux - from its sprawling city centre to the surrounding bayou - Mafia III still managed to conform (perhaps unintentionally) to a frustrating industry trend that's blighting sequels from here to Timbuktu, in that it took several steps forward, but another back by removing perfectly normal (though relatively minor) features from the series.

These are things that Hangar 13 will address with freebies and such, but as for the season pass itself, is there anything in particular we have to look forward to?

The short answer is yes, but as for the long answer? Let's just say that if you happen to be a fan of sixties counterculture and pimping your ride, it's time to get excited all over again.

8. A Whole Host Of Free Outfits

By far the most obvious omission from Mafia III, outfit customisation looks to finally be heading to the title in a free update in the coming weeks.

There's no firm confirmation of specifically when, but rest assured they'll be coming sooner rather than later.

We've spied about three outfits that are coming for definite, including one where Lincoln dons his post-game suit, and another where he's running around in full combat gear from his Vietnam days. It's a little feature, but one that'll flesh out the title and make it feel just that little bit more authentic.
