7. "Faster, Baby!" Sounds Like It's Continuing Mafia's Powerhouse Narrative
The first of three story add-ons coming to Mafia, "Faster, Baby!" looks set to be shining an even greater light on the era's racial injustices, following Lincoln as he joins former partner Roxy Laveau to disrupt a local sheriff's attempts at shutting down a Civil Rights group, operating in the exterior of New Bordeaux.
Without overhyping this story add-on too much, it sounds as though it's going to delve deep into the intricacies that made Mafia III's story so engaging in the first place, shining a light on the all too notorious link between American law enforcement and white supremacist movements for one thing, and further elaborating on Lincoln's backstory for another.
We've already seen how placing a character-driven narrative within an immaculately researched historical setting can lend itself wonderfully to the open world genre - the main title's success alone is confirmation of that fact - so bringing the same multifaceted approach to Mafia's post-release package can only be good news.
As a reintroduction to New Bordeaux, the least we can expect is a riveting narrative and an action-oriented approach to gameplay. Count me in.
