Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: 10 MAJOR Issues Team Ninja Must Fix
1. Performance And Frame Rate
The big one - yes, even bigger than the nausea-inducing camera. When playing MUA3, your Nintendo Switch becomes the Nintendo Stay as the game is almost unplayable in handheld mode. The laggy, unstable framerate when doing pretty much anything, when combined with squinting at the action on the smaller screen, will soon have you reaching for the paracetamol.
Having thrashed out some kind of exclusivity deal with Nintendo, you might have thought that Ninja Theory would optimise the game to make use of the console's trademark portability.
Sadly, you are left chained to your TV and might as well be playing it on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Indeed that would probably be better, as the underpowered Switch struggles to process the action and chugs at times even in docked mode.
It's a crying shame, because the grind of raising your colourful cast of misfits to max level would probably be far palatable if it could be tackled during waits on the train or at the dentist.
As it is, much like its cinematic counterparts, MUA3 is best enjoyed on the big screen.
