Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: 10 Things It Must Include

9. A Brand New Story

If there was anything the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance got right, it had to be its story. In a manner masterfully derivative of Marvel's Golden Age - yet delivered in a tone appropriate for modern audiences - the first title's story took players everywhere from the SHIELD Helicarrier to the Sanctum Santorum and, in a particularly memorable sequence, a planet in the midst of being devoured by Galactus.

It managed to traverse almost the entirety of the Marvel Universe, but in a way that felt organic, fun, and absorbing. Its sequel paled in comparison, mimicking the motions of the ludicrously over hyped 'Civil War' storyline that concluded three years earlier. Indeed, if we've learned anything from the bevy of fantastic licensed titles in recent years, it would be that original stories always prevail where straightforward adaptions do not.

As for what a third game could portray however, well, there certainly isn't a lack of inspiration to draw from. I hear Thanos is pretty big at the moment...
