4. The Thresher Maw Vs. Reaper Takedown (ME 3)

I always thought it'd be a platoon of Krogans that would line up and charge a Reaper on the ground - so the second you realise it's the hulking Thresher Maw, that was pure fanboy-glee territory. Once again Bioware prove they know how to execute on spectacle better than the rest. The sheer size of the two skyscraper-sized creatures doing battle turns Shepard into a dot on the screen, the whole thing being Mass Effect's 'King Kong vs. Godzilla' moment. The weight and heft of every attack will knock your hair off if you've got a decent set of speakers of headphones on - and in amongst all the race-relations or dialogue choices that make up ME 3's denouement, this is a brilliant reminder that Bioware never forgot how to crank things up and go bigger alongside.
