Mass Effect 4: 10 Crazy Fan Demands That Won't Be In The Game

2. No Man's Sky-Style Exploration

No Man's Sky was the biggest success story of E3. Developed by tiny English devs Hello Games, No Man's Sky is set to feature a procedurally-generated universe that allows players to fly from the surface of one planet, through a space of asteroids and debris, and then land on another planet - all without a loading screen in sight. Being a new sci-fi IP, many comparisons were made between No Man's Sky and Mass Effect 4, leading some to wonder whether Bioware may implement a similar exploration system. Why it'd be great: While Mass Effect's universe has been fantastically realised, exploration has always been limited by the clearly zoned areas and small environments. Being able to fly around from surface to surface and explore entire planets would truly cement Mass Effect 4 as a watershed moment in gaming. Why it won't happen: No Man's Sky's style of exploration is only really doable in a procedurally generated game. Mass Effect 4's universe has to be meticulously hand-crafted for the narrative; the time and resources required to have a fully designed world with that level of exploration is totally unprecedented.
