Mass Effect 4: 10 Crazy Fan Demands That Won't Be In The Game

1. Commander Shepard

Commander Shepard was the player-controlled hero of the original Mass Effect trilogy, so it's only natural that players have grown attached to him or her. With many fans believing that Commander Shepard is a required component for a Mass Effect game, it's been suggested that they might be reappearing as a player-controlled character in the fourth entry. Why it'd be great: Having Commander Shepard make a return in the fourth game would give greater impact to the decisions that players made in earlier entries. Allowing for previous save games to be transferred allows the great Commander Shepard's story to live on, even if it's not in the main role as before. Why it won't happen: Bioware have confirmed that Shepard's story is over, so if he did make a reappearance then it'd only be in a secondary role. What's the point in that though? Narratively speaking, it's far better to grant full focus on the new cast of Mass Effect 4, instead of dwelling on the characters that made the old games great. Commander Shepard might be an iconic figure in video games, but he or she could be literally anyone. The whole point was that everyone's Shepard was a different character, dependant on the decisions and course of action that every player takes. Shepard's time has come and gone, and we're ready for a new hero to step into their shoes. What other wish-list features do you have that won't see the light of day? Let us know in the comments!
