9. Playable Elcors

One of the most memorable background alien races from Mass Effect has to be the Elcor. Giant, lumbering creatures, their habit of stating their intended tone of voice has secured the Elcors as fan favourites. Why it'd be great: According to one Elcor diplomat Shepard meets, their warriors resemble "living tanks" in battle. Unable to carry small arms, they mount giant weapons on their shoulders. Needless to say, this would be awesome to see. Why it won't happen: Having a playable Elcor in battles would just be impractical, both for the player to control and for Bioware to implement. Their insanely slow movement speed combined with their totally unique battle style makes for something that wouldn't work in practice. Hopefully that's not to say we won't see an Elcor crew member on the ship though.
