Indiana Jones couldn't do it in the film world, and neither could Bruce Willis - but in gaming we've fared slightly better with fourth instalments, thanks to Metal Gear Solid 4 flying the flag with nanomachine-lit colours alongside Uncharted 4 looking to be another incredibly solid offering from Naughty Dog. This is the big question everyone has though - is another Mass Effect really worth it? Considering all the effort Bioware put into fleshing out their universe - easily one of the best works of start-from-scratch fiction ever created, and something that can stand toe-to-toe with the likes of Star Trek - it seems like a huge shame to let it go to waste. So far Bioware have been asking fans what they'd like to see in terms of it being a prequel or sequel, and although nothing has been confirmed, either way it's pretty-much assured that we're going to see more alien races, as well as expanding on the ones we already have. Some of the best parts of ME2 was seeing how the laboratory-born Krogan, Grunt, was ingratiated into the ranks alongside the rest. It gave off the impression that each race is a fully-functioning societal hierarchy with a great many parallels to our own, albeit exaggerated or twisted for the sake of science-fiction. Picking any of the established races, letting us play as them or getting stuck into how they really work on all levels from politics to social circles is part of what Mass Effect is about - it's just up to Bioware to do it right. We're sure Mass Effect can still be saved, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments!
