Mass Effect 4: 10 Things We Want From BioWare's New Saga

8. Racial Diversity For Player

With most roleplaying games, the choice of defining your look is almost always included, whether that be hairstyle, the look of your face or a change of race, the latter being sorely missed in Mass Effect. Whilst exploring the universe, and encountering individuals like Thane, Samara and Legion, the desire to be put into their boots was always prevalent in the back of my mind. Naturally, the first thought comes to mind is that the option would be created purely cometic, which isn't the case. Having each of these races can offer the player a different point of view of the galaxies. For instance the Batarians, who are generally viewed as a mistrustful species, that are commonly slavers, terrorists or gang members. With one of their solar system's annihilated by an exploding mass relay, they have now become an endangered species. Because of this, exploring Mass Effect through the eyes of a predominant Batarian, fighting against the distrust and stereotypical perceptions of their race would add moral ambiguity to a race which is perceived as scum.
